Cyclomics is a biotech start-up with a mission to revolutionize early cancer diagnostics through DNA sequencing. Our technologies range from low frequency mutation detection in cell-free DNA from liquid biopsies, to tumour classification using neural networks. We have continuing collaborations with several hospitals in the Netherlands, and we are now expanding to other regions and scaling our commercial operations. Following recent investments we relocated to the Matrix Innovation Centers in the Amsterdam Science Park.
To support our growth we are looking for a Bioinformatics / Data Scientist with a strong computational background to help develop and improve data analysis pipelines for genomic and sequencing data. In this role, you will work at the intersection of computer science, algorithms, and molecular biology, focusing on building robust and scalable solutions for biological data analysis.
We value strong programming ability and algorithmic thinking and the ideal candidate also has a solid understanding of molecular biology.
Role & Responsibilities
Design and implement computational pipelines for biological and sequencing data.
Develop efficient algorithms and data-processing solutions for large-scale genomic datasets.
Analyze complex biological datasets and translate findings into actionable insights.
Collaborate with molecular biologists and data scientists.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of production-quality bioinformatics software.
Communicate results clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
MSc in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Data Science, or similar.
At least 2 years of industry experience, or equivalent, in a computational or data-driven role.
Excellent Python programming skills.
Strong algorithmic and logical thinking.
